Life with Anabelle Reese

Anabelle Reese Houser is here! (thank goodness!)

She arrived November 16, 2007 at 7:59. Anabelle weighed a whopping 7 lbs 12 ounces (nearly pound more than the doctor predicted) and was 21 1/4 inches long. Labor and delivery was relatively smooth and Anabelle was born healthy, alert and ready for love.

She is now 2 1/2 weeks old and doing great. She is a VERY happy baby (much to dad and moms relief!) and loves to cuddle.

Philip and I are doing wonderful. We LOVE Anabelle and can't get past the idea that she is ours to stay. We are still really tired and always excited for sleep! But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!! We are learning the ropes as we laugh at our mistakes!

Anabelle is our great joy.

Are we there yet? Almost!

Well, it is official! Anabelle WILL come this week. It appears as though my heart and my body are both very prepared to welcome her! At 36 weeks I was already dilated to 1cm and having increased contractions. At 37 weeks I was dilated to 2cm and 50% effaced and she was positioned properly. The doctor predicted that she will come about a week early. Well at my 38 week appointment, the doctor felt like she is still coming early but sheduled to induce me November 16 just in case she decides to hang out a little longer. This way, my doctor will be able to deliver Anabelle and the parentals will be able to make it to the hospital in time. So!!! We know that she is coming sometime this week! WOO HOO!
